LollyBibs&Co all started back in 2017 when I reignited my love for sewing. After teaching myself to sew back in 2010 when I was at college, I hadn’t touched a sewing machine since so it felt all new to me again!
Going back to November 2016 we’d welcomed our youngest daughter into the world. Months later when she began teething, we were struggling with high-street standard dribble bibs so I decided to have a go at making them myself. I was also so over plain, waterproof backed bibs and quite frankly they just weren’t absorbent enough for what we needed.
I started by drafting my own pattern and experimented with so many different fabrics so I could find the most absorbent backing fabrics and the fabrics that would absorb quickly, too. To this day I still use my original pattern and I still have the very first bib that I made!

After Lollybibs&Co had been open for a few months and hundreds of bibs had been lovingly sewn, carefully packaged, and sent to their new homes, I had to close the shop for a short time due to my eldest daughter having surgery for Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip. Soon after her recovery and second surgery for pin removal, my husband and I got married.

Months after, we then moved house and the years since then have been a bit of a whirlwind! Soon after my eldest started school, lockdown happened so we began juggling online lessons and trying to entertain a 4 and 5-year-old without being able to go out much. In the few years since, both my youngest and I have been diagnosed with Autism so we’ve been navigating learning about all of our unique needs as a family!
During lockdown, I managed to dip my toes into sewing occasionally but I didn’t feel right reopening LollyBibs&Co, so I opened under a new business name during that time, but it didn’t feel right. LollyBibs&Co is where my sewing journey began and it’s where my heart is. I’ve taken a huge break since then - it's helped me gain some clarity of where I want this journey to take me and I’m ready and raring to go! I’ve figured out ways to manage my time and I now know what works for me.
I’m excited to learn new things and continue my love of creating and sharing my items with you all!
